PTFE: A Material with Exceptional Properties
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a fluoropolymer derived from tetrafluoroethylene, recognized for its remarkable properties:
✔ Excellent chemical resistance: It withstands most aggressive products without deterioration.
✔ Very low coefficient of friction: Ideal for applications requiring reduced adhesion and friction.
✔ High thermal stability: It maintains its mechanical properties even at extreme temperatures.
Thanks to these advantages, PTFE is a material of choice for industrial coatings, guaranteeing long-lasting protection and improved performance of treated surfaces.
PTFE Coating Processes
Traditional PTFE Application
PTFE application follows a rigorous process to ensure optimal adhesion and increased strength:
1️⃣ Surface Preparation: Careful sandblasting is performed to create micro-scratches that facilitate the coating’s adhesion.
2️⃣ Primer Coating: A thin layer of Teflon is sprayed to penetrate the micro-cavities.
3️⃣ High-Temperature Curing: The part is heated to 415°C, ensuring a strong bond between the surface and the primer.
4️⃣ Application of the final layer: A second layer of PTFE is applied, followed by another curing process, ensuring scratch-resistant adhesion and a uniform finish.
Reinforced Technology: The Advanced Reinforced PTFE Process
To improve the durability and mechanical strength of PTFE, we use an advanced process combining tungsten carbide and PTFE.
✅ An ultra-resistant matrix: Tungsten carbide, extremely hard and able to withstand shocks, serves as a reinforced structure.
✅ Optimized adhesion: The carbide cavities are filled with a PTFE film, maintaining its non-stick properties while protecting it from premature wear.
✅ Exceptional longevity: Thanks to this combination, the coating’s lifespan is increased 10 to 20 times, ensuring increased resistance to scratches, friction, and chemical and thermal stress.
This innovative process is particularly suited to demanding industrial environments, where performance and reliability are essential.
PTFE Chemical Nickel: A High-Performance Combination
PTFE Chemical Nickel is an innovative surface treatment that combines the advantages of chemical nickel with those of PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene). This unique combination achieves exceptional tribological properties:
✔ Low friction: Significant reduction in adhesion and frictional wear.
✔ Excellent wear resistance: Chemical nickel enhances the coating’s robustness.
✔ Optimal corrosion protection: Ideal for demanding environments. This advanced solution effectively solves wear and friction problems, while benefiting from the complementary properties of electroless nickel and PTFE. It is particularly suited to sectors requiring high mechanical strength and reduced friction, such as aerospace, automotive, and precision engineering.
