Coating

Carbonitriding

After three hours at 560-565 ° C in a bath of cyanide and alkali cyanate with blowing oxygen in situ, we will have on carbon steels a surface layer of 10 to 15 microns (thickness not to exceed) of cementite Fe 3 C and iron nitride feN, very hard, and with excellent adherece. And a sub-layer of several tenths of mm containing iron nitride and nitrogen.

Characteristics

The QPQ reduces the sensitivity of the epidermis to welds, improves the surface hardness and the friction quality, increases resistance to wear, to corrosion, and may simply double the fatigue strength.

The very homogeneous layer of +/- 20 microns provides a room temperature resistance up to 400 ° C and can be deposited even on the corners or in the holes.

This treatment feasible on all steels resists to corrosion. Salt spray test for 200 hours (according to ASTM standard 17) has been operated on samples.

The surface hardness is 700-2500 HV1 according to the type of steel.

Various parts can be treated such as axes, crankshafts, gears, engine shirts, slides, rollers, screw, punches, casting molds of light alloys, wheel flares, levers, pigtails, water pump parts …
